Todd Kaufman is the Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Alta Community Investment.

Kaufman oversees the $90 million group of funds that invest in single-family and multi-family real estate throughout the western United States. Kaufman’s career began in 1986 at PaineWebber, Inc, where he served as a Senior Vice President in the Capital Markets Group, focusing on institutional distribution of fixed-income securities. He remained at PaineWebber for 12 years, ultimately managing the Western Region Capital Markets Group.

Kaufman left PaineWebber in 1998 to co-found Alta Residential Mortgage Trust (ARMT), a mortgage real estate investment trust headquartered in Southern California. Kaufman served as Chief Executive Officer of ARMT and sold the company to Washington Mutual Bank in 2000. Kaufman joined Washington Mutual Bank as part of its acquisition of ARMT, where he launched and managed the bank’s first correspondent lending platform. In 2003, Washington Mutual tapped Kaufman to co-found WaMu Capital Corp, an institutional broker dealer. Kaufman served as a Senior Managing Director for WaMu Capital Corp, overseeing all institutional sales and distribution until 2008.

Kaufman earned a Bachelor’s Degree from the University of California at Davis.

Ms. Davidson has co-management responsibility for Alta’s group of funds that invest in single-family and multifamily real estate throughout the western United States. Ms. Davidson has more than 32 years of capital markets, risk management and portfolio management experience.

Ms. Davidson joined Alta Community Investment in 2008. Prior to joining Alta, Ms. Davidson was SVP, Capital Markets and Portfolio Management at Doral Bank Puerto Rico, where she was a key contributor in a team that raised $610 million to recapitalize the institution. Ms. Davidson served as SVP, Structured Finance and Secondary Marketing at Washington Mutual where she was responsible for the bank’s residential loan sales and securitizations with regular monthly volumes exceeding $20 billion.

She was a member of the Bank’s Asset Securitization Oversight Committee and a Director Washington Mutual Mortgage Securities Corporation. Additionally, Ms. Davidson successfully integrated the Secondary Marketing Departments of five acquired companies into her operations at Washington Mutual. Ms. Davidson left Washington Mutual in 2004.

Ms. Davidson’s prior positions include SVP Portfolio Management and Operations at Alta Residential Mortgage Trust and SVP, Secondary Marketing at Western Federal Savings. Ms. Davidson earned a Bachelor’s Degree from the University of Michigan.

Mr. Hunter joined Alta Community Management in 2009 where his primary responsibilities include development of financial models, asset valuation and financial forecasts for all of the funds. Mr. Hunter’s professional career began at Washington Mutual Bank in 2000 where he served as a Senior Analyst responsible for fixed-income quantitative modeling & analysis.

In 2004, Mr. Hunter joined Washington Mutual’s newly created broker-dealer, Wamu Capital Corp, where he was responsible for hedging and trading the firm’s multi-billion dollar mortgage-backed securities portfolio. Mr. Hunter was retained by JP Morgan Chase in their acquisition of Washington Mutual and charged with managing a $500 million mortgage-backed securities portfolio.

Mr. Hunter graduated from Whitman College with a double major in Math and Economics in 2000. He earned an M.B.A from The University of Washington, Foster School of Business in 2007.

Mr. Bertrand joined Alta Community Management in 2009 where his primary responsibilities include oversight of the operations of all multi-family assets. Mr. Bertrand manages decision making and reporting of capital improvement projects, leasing activity, budgeting, vendor relationships and compliance. Mr. Bertrand started with Alta as Single-Family Project Manager, leading to his current position of Asset Manager. Mr. Bertrand has been responsible for single-family property renovations, single-family rental property management and disposition, and multi-family asset management.

In 1998 Mr. Bertrand joined Internet Business Services, a management company of online properties. As Director of Operations he developed loss-prevention software and procedures to identify and prevent high-risk transactions. He remained with IBS for more than 8 years. During that time Mr. Bertrand also created an ad serving platform that intelligently displayed ads based on ROI.

Mr. Bertrand is a licensed real estate salesperson in the state of California.
